Supporting Thetford parkrun

Andrew Smith, Business Director Liquid Packaging & Healthcare, and an active member and volunteer of Thetford parkrun, presented a £250 donation from Camvac’s Dress Down Friday fund at their weekly run on Saturday 4th August.  The donation will help towards fundraising efforts to set up a junior parkrun in Thetford.  Thetford parkrun has been instrumental in helping people have a weekly routine for exercise regardless of their running ability, and the encouragement and support has a profound effect on people’s physical and mental wellbeing. Extending this to a specific event for juniors will help young people have a weekly social event where participation in a physical activity forms part of a healthy lifestyle and also provides a platform to improve collectively and individually by supporting and encouraging each other.

Business & Student Engagement Programme

Camvac Limited attended the launch of the Business & Student Engagement Programme on 13 March 2018, in association with the Thetford Business Forum. The event, held at the West Suffolk College Bury St Edmunds (Suffolk), was a chance for businesses in Thetford, from different sectors, to present their company to students at the College to raise the profile of employment options within Thetford and the surrounding area.

Charities thank Camvac for their Support

The Royal British Legion would like to thank Camvac most sincerely for their contribution to the Poppy Appeal. The Poppy Appeal is the major single source of revenue for the Royal British Legion’s Benevolent Fund. Each year more people come to the Legion for help and the cost of that help is continually increasing. Thank you on behalf of those who will now benefit from your support.

Very many thanks from the Norfolk and Suffolk Animal Trust for the wonderful donation which the staff of Camvac raised from their weekly staff dress down days. As a small charity we are always grateful to receive donations all of which goes to the upkeep of the animals in our care.

A very sincere thank you from The Salvation Army for the kind donation. The Salvation Army is the safety net for people in need, giving them encouragement and support. Your donation will enable us to be there for vulnerable people who come to us.

Deepest thank you from Star Throwers for your very kind donation.  Star Throwers is an independent charity relying on funding from local businesses and individuals to provide advice and support to patients and their loved ones affected by cancer.

Dressing Down for Charity!

Each Friday, all Camvac staff are invited to come in to work in casual wear and take part in the aptly named ’Dress Down Fridays’, in exchange for a £1.00, with all money raised being donated to local charities.

This year, the charities chosen on behalf of all Camvac staff, are The Royal British LegionNorfolk & Suffolk Animal Trust and Oxfam.

Camvac would like to thank all its staff members for their continuing support with this good cause.

Job Fair

Camvac attended its second Job Fair held in the market town of Diss in Norfolk on 26th October 2017. The event, organised by the Job Centre, was a success and gave Camvac the opportunity to meet and present the company to local people seeking employment and also to meet other local businesses.

Continuous Improvement Projects

Camvac has started two new Continuous Improvement projects.  “Project Jones” on waste reduction and “Project Mainwaring” on releasing capacity. Here you can see key members of the Project Teams working on a SMED exercise.  Team Barcelona just about beat Team Real Madrid, albeit in extra time!

Supporting Local Charities

Warren Services would like to thank Camvac so much for supporting our Charity event, without the help and support from people like yourselves we would never of been able to raise £13,129.75 for My WiSH and The Big C. Thank you so very much for being so generous.

Dave Glister Memorial Golf Day

The third golf day, held in Dave’s memory, was held at Wensum Valley on August Bank Holiday Monday. 17 golfers of mixed ability endured a blazing hot day and greens fit for the pro tour, but a great day was had by all. The prizes were won by Matt Brown (winner), Ady Andrews (most played golf, turning up in a base layer in 25 degrees heat and for wearing carpet slippers), Ron Kent (longest drive) and Steve Jackson (nearest pin). Special thanks to Steve Ramm and Frank Rampling for organising the day – I’m sure Dave was looking down with a smile on his face.
